The political parties with seats in 3rd House, which include the Ruling party,
EPRDF, EDUP-Medhin, Affiliate Parties to EPRDF, the parlrliamentary Group and
the CUD led by Ato Ayele Chamiso have launched their deliberation on issues
revolving around the bill that provides for Mass media and the Right to Information
on Nov. 19, 2007.
Chief whip of the government hon. Ato Shiferaw Jarso has disclosed in his briefing to domestic journalists with regard to the discussions of the political parties on the bill that provides for Mass media and the Right to Information.
Hon. Ato Shiferaw in the statement he gave to journalists said the deliberation on the bill that provides for Mass media and the Right to Information has been carried out among EDUP Meidhn, Coalition for Unity and Democracy Party led by Ato Ayele Chamiso, Parliamentary group, EPRDF, and Affiliated political organizations with amicable understandings.
Added to the value of opening the access room to the bill that provides for Mass media and the Right to Information is crucial to contribute to the endeavor of building democracy, he underscored.
Honorable Ato Sheferaw also recalled that CUD of Ato Temesgen and OFDM walked out and withdrew themselves from the discussion of last year because of their own cause but not due to EPRDF and yet they still have the chance to join the forum if they ask for apology.
Meanwhile, Chief Whip of the government, secretariat of CUD Ato Kassahun Kebede
, representative of affailiated political organizations, EDUP-Medhin and the
Parliamentary Group have jointly announced the commencement of the deliberation
of the bill that provides for Mass media and the Right to Information and discussion
would continue to arrive at common decision, which will be submitted to the
parliament for endorsement.
