House ratifies three Bills

The House of Peoples’ Representatives has ratified 3 draft proclamations in its 30th regular session held on 15th of May 2008 after it had discussion at length on the decision proposals presented by the concerned committees’ chairpersons.

The House has adopted a convention signed between Ethiopia and the Government of French Republic for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Tax on Income with a majority vote of 317 for, and 8 abstentions as Proclamation No. 584/2008.

Moreover, the House has also ratified a proclamation to ratify the convention signed between Ethiopia and the Czech Republic for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Tax on Income with a majority vote of 322 for, and 3 abstentions as Proclamation No. 585/2008.

Similarly, the House has confirmed a bill to ratify the agreement between Ethiopia and the Government of the Republic of India on Cooperation in the Fields of Science and Technology with a majority vote of 323 for, and 2 abstentions as Proclamation No. 586 / 2008.

Meanwhile, the House has approved the minutes of the 3rd year tenure of the 18th, 19th and 20th regular sessions with a view that corrections made by the members to be incorporated authenticated against original audio-video records.
