The ratified bills play pivotal roles in economic development endeavors
The House of Peoples’ Representatives has approved draft proclamations as regards culture and tourism that would provide contributions to the economic development endeavors of the country.
The House has ratified the draft proclamations in its 26th regular session held on April 24, 2008.
The House has endorsed a Proclamation to provide for the Establishment of the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority with the majority vote of 299 for and 11 abstentions as Proclamation No. 575/2008 after it had conducted discussion in depth on the report and decision proposal presented by the Deputy Chairperson of the Rural Development Affairs Standing Committee of the House, the Hon. Ato Abdu Alem.
Likewise, the House also endorsed a proclamation to Amend the International Convention on the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding system Ratification with the majority vote of 301 for, and 3 abstentions as Proclamation No. 576/2008 after the House Conducted discussion on the report and decision proposal submitted by the Chairperson of Trade and Industry Affairs Standing Committee, the Hon. Ato Kebede Abera.
Similarly, the House has adopted the proclamation to ratify the Agreement on
Tourism Cooperation Ethiopia signed with the Republic of Turkey with a majority
vote of 300 for, 2 against and 2 abstentions as Proclamation No. 577/2008, after
it has discussed in depth on the report and decision proposal tabled by the
chairperson of the Information and Culture Affairs Standing Committee of the
House, the Hon. Ato Dawit Tefera.
Finally., the House has endorsed the draft proclamation of Cooperation Agreement
on Culture and Tourism between Ethiopia and Nigeria with the majority vote of
288 for, 1 against and 4 abstentions as Proclamation No. 578/2008 after it had
conducted deliberations at length on the report and decision proposal tabled
by the Hon. Ato Dawit Tefera.
