The information and Culture affairs and the legal and administrative affairs standing committees of the House have discussed the bill to amend the proclamation providing for the definition of powers and duties of the executive organs with concerned bodies. On 27th of June 2007.

The discussion which was chaired by chairman of the information and culture affairs standing Committee, Hon Ato Dawit Teferra was attended by Minister of information, state minister of information and officials of the Ethiopian News agency.

The Committees conducted the discussion following House’s referral of the bill to them for further scrutiny

Menwhile, the minister, his excellency Ato Birhane Hyliu has given explanations on the necessity of the bill.

According to explanations, the bill allows to amend the powers and duties of the ministry and organize the Ethiopian News agency under the ministry.
