House Accomplishes
Effective Actions

The House of Peoples’ Representatives has reportedly carried out effective activities during the ended working year.

It was the speaker of the House, hon. Ambassador Teshome Toga who announced this on 9th of July when briefing journalists on the performance of the House.

In his announcement, hon. Ambassador Teshome said that the House has accomplished various effective activities during the noted tenure thereby attaining better performance than the previous year.

According to hon. Speaker, the House has been endeavoring to implement the parliamentary service reform programme and conducting studies on House’s business processes re-engineering.

He said the House would continue intensified, these and other capacity building endeavors to bring about over whelming institutional transformation.

With a view to implement the revised rules of producedures and members’ code of conduct, the House has formed advisory committee, public accounts affairs standing committee and 18 parliamentary friendship groups.

Moreover, it has heard responses of the prime minister and other high level government officials to the questions raised by members.

Similarly, performance reports of the various executive bodies have been heard at regular sessions and at the standing committee forums where necessary remarks were given by concerned House’s bodies.
