Improves Quality of Education


The status quality of education could be improved through implementing information and communication technology programme in a speedy manner by the Agency of Educational Media.

The chairperson of Capacity Building Affairs Standing Committee of the House hon. Ato Tekle Tessema remarked this while concluding the woling visit of Educational Media Agency of the Ministry of Education held on 2 Jan. 2008.

Hon. Ato Tekle Tessema declared that the Agency should enhance the implementation of information and communication technology in regional states, to create competent human resources to accelerating the realization of the ongoing poverty reduction programme.

Moreover, hon. Ato Tekle expressed that strenuous efforts made by the Agency to build ICT capacity of regional states and private schools under private ownership, as well as the improvement of materials and human resources are encouraging and should keep it up in strengthened manner.

Meanwhile, questions were raised by the members of the committee which were responded by the state minister of Education, his Excellency Ato Fuad Ebrahim.

His Excellency Ato Fuad underlined that in order to achieve sustainable development thereby mitigating poverty, the ministry of education has studied to design reliable curriculum and methodology backed by information and communication technology that would enable the trainees be well qualified and competitive globally.

Besides, Educational Media Agency has studied the designs of the policy of information and communication technology in collaboration with concerned bodies that would contribute to the direction that the Agency should follow, he said.

Meantime the head of information and communication technology of Educational Media Agency Ato Demis Bekele on his part underscored that digitization and tele-education enable the students to learn with self-help ways in every place by downloading the lessons from electronic equipments.

Furthermore, Ato Demis has presented a brief explanation on information and communication technology, dissemination the lesson beginning from primary to secondary schools, ICT and policy the capacity building of regional stats in ICT utilization and others related aspects.

The committee has visited the production control, studios, listening and editing and transmission rooms and other for further understanding of the activities and organizational set ups.
