The House Ratifies two Bills and Directs other two Bills to Committees

The House of peoples’ Representatives in its 11th regular session held on 20th of Dec. 2007 has ratified two bills and directed other two bills to the relevant standing committees for examination.

The House ratified the two bills after it had made deliberations, entertained comments and questions in-depth on the decision proposal presented by the Infrastructure Affairs Standing committee and thereby referred two bills to relevant standing committees for further scrutiny.

Meantime, the House has endorsed the dissolution of the Federal Urban Planning Institute Establishment proclamation with a majority vote cast of 275 for, 33 abstentions and with no objection as proclamation No. 558/2007.

Besides, the House has also ratified the bill to provide for the Vehicle Insurance Against Third Party Risk with the majority votes cast of 276 for, 1 against and 9 abstentions.

Following this, the House has directed the bill of the Right of Persons with Disability to Employment with a majority votes cast to the Social Affairs Standing Committee for examination.

Similarly, a proclamation to ratify the programme financing agreement between Ethiopia and the International Fund for Agricultural Development Programme Financing participatory Small-Scale Irrigation Development Programme has been referred by the House for further examination mainly to the Budget and Finance Affairs Standing committee to be Jointly scrutinized with the Rural Development Affairs and the Foreign, Defense and Security Affairs standing committees of the House.

Meantime, the house has adopted the minute of its 6th regular session of 3rd year tenure with a majority vote with a view that corrections made be taken into account authenticated against the original audio-video records.
