Untitled Document Hon. Deputy Speaker said, the Donation helps to build the Capacity of the Caucus

It was declared that the donation granted to the women’s caucus in the House of Peoples’ Representatives by the Canada International Development Agency will help to build the capacity of the women’s caucus.

The Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples’ Representatives and the chairperson of Women’s Caucus in the House revealed this during the hand-over ceremony that the donation given by Canada International Development Agency via the research and documentation department of the House on 4th April 2008.

Computer and other modern equipment denoted from the Agency would help the Caucus to get access to website and Email systems to be in touch in and abroad with different bodies, honorable Deputy Speaker expressed.

The secretary general of the Women’s Caucus hon. W/ro Meselech Wedajo on her part said that the donation would contribute to improve the working activities of the caucus.


Besides, the donation granted by the donor will benefit the members of the Women’s Affairs Standing Committee of the House and female officials engaged at different positions, the secretary general stated.

Moreover, hon. Meselech also noted that the Women’s Caucus of the House has been recognized by the Ministry of Justice to enable the caucus to do its activity in a strengthened manner.

The Deputy Speaker and the chairperson of the caucus said that Canada International Development Agency deserves due appreciation for the donation done which is needy and instrumental to the online development of the Women’s Caucus.
